Joanna obtained degrees in science and law from Imperial College London and the College of Law, before qualifying as a solicitor in 2008. Joanna gained her Masters degree in law from the Sorbonne University in Paris. Joanna worked at firms in London, Paris and Luxembourg, where she worked principally as a fund lawyer, before moving to Switzerland in 2012, and has been working within the Swiss asset management and trust industry ever since.

Joanna is a member of STEP (having achieved the highest mark in Switzerland in 2016) and holds the STEP Diploma in UK Tax for International Clients.
