John graduated from University of Witwatersrand in 1973 with a Bachelor of Commerce, followed by obtaining his Certificate in Theory of Accountancy in 1975 from same university. He completed his articles with Kessel Feinstein (subsequently Grant Thornton) Johannesburg, South Africa and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1976. In 1982, John also obtained his Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Witwatersrand University.
John left the profession in 1977 for commerce where he remained until 2001 in South Africa. John is an experienced senior Chartered Accountant and has held very high level positions in the profession, investment banking and financial as well as general management in both listed and unlisted companies, and across a wide spectrum industries.
He left South Africa in 2001 and moved to Cyprus where he founded Priamus Audit, a specialist audit and tax practice which provides professional services to a large number of clients, both corporate and high worth individuals, in various industries, worldwide. Priamus specializes in audit services, tax planning and compliance.
John is also head of Earl Cyprus.
